I spent a semester at my university in Austria researching Thuluth calligraphy inscribed on the Sheikh Lotfollah mosque in Esfahan. I gained greater insight on how culture influences scripts and vice versa. During my research, I got it in my head that I wanted to go see the mosque in person. I did so alone the following semester during my Erasmus in Turkey. It was a dream come true.
